Strawberry Slicer: A Time Saver

by | Jun 6, 2016

My friend, Peggy, an avid second-hand treasure hunter, found this little gadget on one of her outings.  One day I had occasion to be slicing strawberries with her and she pulled it out of her kitchen drawer.  Hmmm…

Well, what the heck, I gave it a try.  Major discovery.  Any size strawberry, washed and stemmed, can be put in this appropriately shaped gadget and with a sleight of hand come out in pretty, even slices.

I have sliced many a strawberry in my days.  We would purchase lugs of strawberries straight from the fields, slice and bag them in quart Zip Lock bags, and put them into the freezer to be enjoyed, especially on waffles, during the cold, winter months.  What hours this gadget could have saved me!

Yep, I was sold.  I immediately went home and looked for them on-line, found them, and ordered one for me and my daughter and my daughter-in-law and my sister.  They cost more to ship to my loved ones than the original price of the gadget but I did not care.  When discovering something remarkable, you must share.

Since that time, I have seen the Joie Simply Slice Strawberry Slicer in several stores and it is available online, including  If you happen across one, take a chance.  It is worth the investment of about $5.  And it looks like a strawberry.  How cute it that?
